Yes, Press Releases still work. Journalists still need events and topics to cover. The easier that you make it for them to create their story, the better.

Action Tools:

Make it easy for the media to find your press release. Put your release on your website, in your emails, and on your socials so it’s easy to find. Create a TAB on your site for easy access. The less work journalists have to do…the better.
Hire a Public Relations firm to do it for you. If you have more money than time, just pay a professional to do it. They can write up a press release and do some of the marketing for you too. Find a company that knows about Haunted Attractions.
Add social proof to your media page. Have other newspapers, websites, vloggers, radio stations, or news channels covered your attraction before? Put it on your website with a link to the media source.
Send out emails to media outlets that reach your target market. Make it easy for the media to copy and paste your information. They are busy and are looking for a story. Give them one.
Go to the media outlets in person. Drop off some spooky treats or maybe some free tickets to your local radio stations. Invite them out to media night. Be memorable.
