How will the community react?

Overview:

Getting off on the wrong foot with the local community can cause friction. Some haunts have been shut-down due to complaints & community action. Being purposeful on how you build your business around the locals is important. Even if you just make small steps at first. be considerate, help your neighbors, & always stay professional.

Action Tools:

Give back to the community around your attraction. Doing good things will foster a step in the right direction. Plus, it's just a nice thing to do.
Have a family-friendly event. This may be early non-scary hours (5-7?), a Thursday/Sunday, or a glow necklace that keeps the monsters away.
Include the community. Many people around the area like haunted houses too. How can you team up with them to help each other?
Don't be a bad citizen. Business and branding is all about perception. How do those around you see & think about your business? Which type of businesses do you like to support? Be one of those.
